Renee Returns

Waaay back when, I posted some lovely Renee Perle photos.  Just scoured the web and found some new ones.  I love everything she is wearing here = tank tops, bangles, huuuge hats, little knit caps, adorable bathing suit, breezy wide-legged linen trousers (or beach pajama bottoms) and espadrillessssss! Hey, wait a minute....the woman in my beautiful postcard suddenly reminds me of Renee Perle?? There's no indication that the image was taken by Lartigue or that the model was Perle.  If it's not her, the gal was a ringer!

Fabulous images, and that sure was a Julia Margaret Cameron photo - I've put the title etc. in the post now!

Yes, I did think that was Renee Perle when I saw that photograph on Etsy...

Seeing these images makes me want to go hunt down a stripy tank, make some super-wide leg linen slacks, and run back to Target for a floppy-brimmed hat I spotted earlier in the week! I love 30s beach/resort fashion--it's so comfortable looking while still being put-together and stylish. ;)

Hi, Cami: Welcome to my little part of the blog-o-sphere! Glad you're enjoying my frivolity!

Miss Tami Lee, garofit: must find out whether it is indeed the divine Ms. Perle! Definitely a similar chicness!

Madeline: oh, I thought I recognized the Cameronian style in the image. Awesome!!
Fanny Pinkleton: couldn't agree more!!!!

Hannah: I'm so in love with beach bobble hats now it's ridiculous!!

casey: oh you must! you have the perfect figure for it! I fear I am having trouble making those gorgeous trousers work around my pear shaped hips (the tank-wide legged slack combo just further emphasizes the pear! still, dare to dream!!)

My goodness, look at the width of her trousers in that third photo with the sunhat! I love it!

I need to do some shopping! How is it that people in old photos seem to not look miserable in the heat? Glamour must have a cooling effect.
